On July 23rd, the Texas Association of Builders announced the winners of the 2026 Star Awards in San Antonio, Texas. Grenadier Homes was among builders across the Southwest waiting to see if their accomplishments would be recognized out of this year’s 1,100 entries. For two consecutive years, Grenadier Homes was honored to receive awards in all the categories they were nominated in: Best Architectural Design and Best Overall Interior Merchandising of a Model. These latest wins add to Grenadier Homes’ long history of industry recognition, with award wins dating back to 2011. The Texas Association of Builders notes: “As the state’s premier homebuilding awards program, the Star Awards represent one of the industry’s highest honors.”
Architecture
Behind these award-winning homes are department heads Kathy Costa, VP of Design, and Craig Gorsuch, Architectural Designer, who combine decades of industry experience with a shared commitment to thoughtful, purposeful design. When asked about the intentionality of architecture of the now award-winning townhomes at Ten Mile Creek, Gorsuch explained how the team built upon what Grenadier had learned from previous award-winning communities: “We took what had previously worked and then improved on it for the needs of the future homeowners at Ten Mile Creek.”
Design
That same desire to evolve and improve influenced Costa and her team when designing the award-winning Wildridge model home. After studying other model homes in the market, they saw an opportunity to spice up the over-played neutral farmhouse aesthetic that they had come to notice. “We really wanted to take the same neutral palette, warm it up, add some more current themes, add some bold contrast and texture, and bring new life to it,” Costa said.
The Intention
Something that both Gorsuch and Costa touched on separately was the intentionality behind the designs of Grenadier Homes. They acknowledged that functionality drives many of the decisions behind the design of a home. They take into consideration how someone moves through a room and how a space will serve Grenadier homeowners years from now. Architecture and interior design aren’t approached simply through the lens of what looks good today, but what will make a home feel purposeful, comfortable, and relevant for the people who live there.
